ASDAN Employability
Subject Intent: The ASDAN Certificate in Employability is designed to help learners develop the skills needed to become successful employees. The primary purpose of this qualification is to support them in overcoming barriers to entering work. It is primarily intended for young people and adults who are not yet ready for employment but for whom a job is a realistic aim within a reasonable timescale. It may also suit those experiencing the workplace for the first time that need to develop employability skills.

Subject Overview: At Key Stages 4 and 5, schools, academies, alternative education providers and training organisations can use the qualifications to accredit preparation for employment training, career education, enterprise education, work-related learning and work experience.
There are two qualifications available at all levels:
- Award
- Certificate
Units include:
- Applying for a Job
- Managing own money as an employee
- Learning through work experience
- Health and safety in the workplace.

City and Guilds Retail
Subject Intent: Retail Knowledge enables you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the retail sector. The qualification covers customer service, selling and team work.
For this qualification, you may learn on the job or in a group setting with your training provider. You'll be assessed using online, multiple-choice tests.
Subject Staff : Mr A Dale
Subject Overview: Level 1 will suit you if you work, or would like to work, in the retail sector and want to gain basic knowledge and understanding of the industry.
There are two qualifications available at Level 1:
- Award in Retail Knowledge
- Certificate in Retail Knowledge.
Units include:
- Understanding the business of retail
- Understanding customer service in the retail sector
- Understanding the retail selling process

PSHE (ASDAN)
Subject Intent: ASDAN’s PSHE Short Course supports young people of all abilities to develop their emotional wellbeing and skills to stay healthy, safe and feel prepared for adulthood. Whilst building on a coursework based portfolio students will be able to discover and tackle adult concepts whilst preparing them for the wider world.

Subject Overview: ASDAN’s PSHE Short Course covers topics such as Keeping safe and healthy, Financial choices and Respectful relationships. The course modules are delivered in any way that suits the pupils’ needs, interests and learning styles
